Vizianagaram: Minister Vellampalli Srinivas flays Opposition for politicising issue

Vizianagaram: An annual review meeting on good governance was organised at DRDA premises here on Tuesday. Deputy Chief Minister P Pushpasreevani and in-charge Minister and Endowments Minister Vellampalli Srinivas took part in the brainstorming session on the first day and interacted with the officers of various departments.

Discussion was held on welfare schemes, Transport and Civil Supplies departments. Various stalls also were set up on the occasion and the staff explained how welfare schemes were being implemented in the district.

Discussions were also held on schemes like Vasati Deevena, Vahana Mitra, Ward, Grama Sachivalayams, YSR Pension Kanuka and other schemes. Later, Vellampalli Srinivas stated that their government was supporting every sector in the State and recently the government had sanctioned Rs 900 crore and waiving fixed power charges for micro, small and medium enterprises.

The government would purchase the products manufactured by MSMEs and would pay the bills in 45 days. "Our State is debt-ridden because of the previous TDP government but the present government, headed by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is giving equal priority to welfare, developmental activities and to industrial growth too," he said.

Speaking on selling of TTD assets, the Endowments Minister said that the decision was taken by the previous government and a committee which was appointed then had recommended selling the non-performing assets.

"We are just implementing the recommendations made by the previous committee. We will go forward only if the selling of assets would benefit the TTD. But the Opposition parties are slinging mud on the State government and politicising it and planning to get political mileage from the issue," he said. Collector M Hari Jawaharlal and other district officers took part in the programme.
