Vizianagaram: Police services during Covid lauded

Vizianagaram: The police personnel right from home guard to Superintendent of Police have done wonderful job during Corona pandemic. Their services are immeasurable and some of then even sacrificed their lives to protect the rest of the society from the dreaded virus corona.

On Saturday, various NGOs have organised a felicitation programme for police department for their impeccable efforts during the pandemic and to prevent the spread of the virus.

P Raghu Varma, MLC, stated, "Everybody is scared of corona, but the police department has taken it as a challenge to curb the virus. Just because of their efforts, Vizianagaram district has been in Green Zone for more than 45 days." B Rajakumari, the SP has guided the staff in a proper way to save the society, he said.

Former MP Dr DVG Sankara Rao, said that the police knew that they were facing the threat of contracting the virus, but they did not step back and continued to work relentlessly to protect the people in the district from Covid-19. They worked for 24 hours in a day to control the pandemic, he said.

Representatives from several organisations lauded the police staff for their invaluable services. SP Rajakumari said that she could work round-the-clock with the support of the people and her staff. "With their support only we could keep our district in Green Zone," she said.

"We are grateful to the public for their wonderful support," she said. Later the SP, DSPs were felicitated at the function.
