Vizianagaram: The State government is simply hijacking the housing scheme undertaken during the TDP regime and misleading the beneficiaries, alleged P Aditi Gajapathi Raju, in-charge of TDP for Vizianagaram Assembly constituency.

The government should allot the houses to the beneficiaries which were built under the Township and Infrastructure Development Corporation (TIDCO) scheme during the TDP regime, she said.

Aditi handed over a memorandum to Collector M Hari Jawaharlal here on Monday and later spoke to the reporters. "Thousands of houses were constructed under TIDCO scheme and the selected beneficiaries have paid their fee and other charges to the government.

Even the previous TDP government also allotted houses to the beneficiaries through lottery method. But the present government is hijacking the scheme and even the village, mandal level staff members are forcing the housing beneficiaries to accept the house sites offered by the present government instead of the houses allotted by the previous TDP government," she said.

It would be a huge burden on the downtrodden sections. They would not be able to bear the financial burden to construct the new houses at the sites allotted for them, Aditi pointed out. She urged the YSRCP government to do justice to common people and not to implement its own agenda.
