VMC Commissioner Prasanna Venkatesh to announce list of divisions for opening shops today

Vijayawada: Guidelines and the Municipal divisions in which shops can be opened in the Green and Orange Zones in Vijayawada city will be announced on Thursday, according to Municipal Commissioner Prasanna Venkatesh on Wednesday.

The Commissioner was holding discussions with the traders at the Tummalapalli Kalakshetram on Wednesday. He made it clear that Covid-19 lockdown curbs would remain in place in the Containment Zones and the traders cannot open shops in these areas till the end of lockdown.

He said the traders can open the shops from 7 am to 7 pm in the permitted zones and the list of Municipal divisions and location of zones will be uploaded in the website vmc.ap.gov.in at 11 am on May 21 and appealed to the traders to contact the control room number 0866-2424172 and 0866- 2427485. Thousands of traders in the city are eagerly waiting for the opening of shops and doing business.
