We have brought many changes in health sector: CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy
Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said the health sector has undergone many changes this year. He recalled that the late Chief Minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy's decision to ensure that the poor have access to education and medical care. He alleged that the previous governments have ignored the health sector after the death of the latter.
He said 90 per cent of the promises given in the manifesto has been fulfilled since coming to power. As part of Mana Palana - Mee Suchana program, he held a review meeting with the medical health department and hospitals on Friday at the camp office in Tadepalli. He discussed the modernization of the Arogyasri, and the increase of 104 and 108 number of vehicles.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said, "The scope of health care is applicable to people with income below Rs 5 lakh where a 1.42 crore people have been brought under the purview of the scheme. " There is treatment available to as many 2000 diseases under Arogyasri along with cancer disease, speech therapy at all super speciality hospitals in Hyderabad, Chennai, and Bangalore as well. We are developing the infrastructure in the hospitals under Nadu-Nedu program and start the 104 and 108 services in July.
He said we have strived hard to contain coronavirus setting up labs in thirteen districts in seventy days. "We have increased the ability to perform 11,000 tests per day with 6,627 tests per million and are number one in the country, " CM Jagan said.
