Weavers express gratitude to CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy
Ongole: The Prakasam District Padmasali Sangam (PDPS) expressed its gratitude to Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and the ministers for their generosity to provide Rs 24,000 per annum to 90,000 weavers through the welfare scheme which was approved on October 16.
In this regard, a programme was organised by the members of PDPS. Speaking on the occasion, District Padmashali working president G Tirupathi Rao said that former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu ignored the interests of tnhe weavers.
Though the BC community people supported the TDP to form the government, the then chief minister Naidu did not care to solve their woes and ignored them. In the 2019 elections, the BC community people had taught a lesson to Naidu by defeating TDP and voting YSRCP to power. On behalf of all the weaver community, he expressed his gratitude to the CM Jagan and his ministers for extending financial support of Rs 24,000 per annum to weavers.
Padmasali Sangham general secretary T Vijayakanth thanked the government for allocating Rs 200 crore for the welfare of BC community weavers on the occasion. A Lakshminarayana, G Lakshminarayana, G Nageswara Rao, K Balakrishna and others were present.
