Workers stage protest seeking job security in Kakinada
Kakinada: Temporary workers providing different services to the people held a demonstration in front of the Collectorate here on Thursday, demanding that the government absorb them as permanent staff.
Asserting that they have been in service for over one-and-a-half decades, the temporary workers, who included service managers, employees, Sishu and Mee-seva employees threatened an agitation, if the government failed to give an assurance on job security soon.
Noor Ahmed, executive secretary of the Mee Seva Employees' Association, said that they had requested the government to regularise them, but to no avail. "If the government did not respond immediately, the workers would go on an indefinite strike," Noor Ahmed declared.
