Yechury, Prakash Raj to take part in anti-CAA meeting on March 8
Tirupati: Communist Party of India (Marxist) general secretary Sitaram Yechury, CPI national secretary K Narayana and popular film star Prakash Raj will address a public meeting to be held to protest against CAA, NPRand NRC here on March 8.
Loukika Rajyanga Parirakshna Vedika (LRPV), a confederation ofvarious political parties and social organisations, is organising theprotest meeting as part of the agitation launched by the Vedika in thepilgrim city two weeks ago.
Speaking to the media here on Saturday, LRPV convenor P Anjaiah said theVedika in an effort to intensify the movement against the draconianCAA, NRC and NPR is organising the public meeting in the pilgrim city.
Lambasting Prime Minister Modi, Anjaiah said the Saffron party governmentinstead of striving to resolve burning issues like growingunemployment, spiralling prices and maintaining law and order, broughtthe black laws to pit the people against each other on communal lines.
Political parties, social and mass organisations like students, women and employees associations joined together to organise the public meeting to give impetus to the anti-CAA movement.
CPI (M) district secretary A Pullaiah, CPI city secretary Viswanatha said theState leaders, including secretaries of CPI (M) and CPI Madhu andRamakrishna respectively will also participate in the meeting.
