Young man kills girlfriend for refusing to commit suicide along with him in Anantapur

In a shocking incident that took place in Anantapur, a young man murdered his girlfriend who refused to die along with him for not getting permission for their marriage from the elders of the family. Going into details, Shahida Begum and Raghu of same town have been in love for three years. However, their elders did not agree to this. With this, Raghu persuaded his girlfriend to commit suicide together.

However, Shahida later changed her mind and refused to take the final plunge. Meanwhile, Raghu drank insecticide but she refused. With this Raghu has been resentful of Shahida ever since. Angered that he had not committed suicide with him, he decided to kill her. As part of ill intention, Raghu called Shahida, who was preparing for the wedding on the pretext of chatting with her. On the night of the 17th of this month he was taken Shahida out making her believe that he wanted to speak to her.

The girl's parents who were shocked over missing of their daughter questioned Raghu about Shahida and later complained to the police as they did not get proper answer from him. However, police found the body of Shahida Begum in the HLC canal near Thumbiganur. Raghu was taken into custody and a case was registered against him.
