YS Jagan directs officials to ensure there are no power cuts in the state

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has directed the authorities to take action without power cuts in the state in the wake of the coal shortage across the country. He said necessary steps should be taken to run the thermal power plants at full capacity.

He reviewed with the authorities at his camp office on Thursday over the power situation in the state and discussed power generation and coal reserves at various thermal power plants in the state. He directed that all necessary steps be taken to recover the coal reserves from anywhere in the country.

Also, the CM clarified that the required coal should be procured and there should be no shortage of funds for this. It was ordered to increase production to the capacity of the existing thermal plants. Chief Minister Jagan directed that the new units at Krishnapatnam and NTTPS should start production immediately, thereby making 1,600 MW of power available.

He also suggested that in coordination with the Singareni company, coal should be extracted as and when required. It wants to be in constant coordination with the concerned ministries and agencies at the Centre. CM Jagan directed the authorities to take action without power cuts.
