YS Jagan Mohan Reddy betraying BCs with penniless corporations: TDP
Amaravati: TDP general secretary Panchumarthy Anuradha on Thursday hit back strongly at the Jagan Mohan Reddy Government, saying that there was nothing that the ruling YSRCP had done for improving the living standards of the backward classes in the State in the past 18 months.
Anuradha said that though the Jagan regime formed many corporations for BCs, they have not given any funds to conduct any developmental activities through them. Just low-level jobs like volunteers getting Rs 5,000 were being given to BCs, but the top level jobs carrying lakhs of rupees salaries were bagged by a particular section.
In a statement here, the TDP leader asked why Jagan was not bringing a special budget for the BCs by sanctioning exclusive funds for their upliftment. Even the BC corporations were only intended to cheat and betray the backward classes across the State. Though he has not given any funds, the Chief Minister was trying to claim all the credit for BCs upliftment through his unchecked propaganda.
Anuradha criticised the Jagan regime for reducing the BC reservations in local body elections to just 24 per cent. Very few BCs are there among the top highly paid 30 advisors of the Chief Minister. Even the benefits meant for ration and pensions were not being extended properly in the name of welfare.
Anuradha told the YSRCP leaders to realise that mere lip service without giving gainful jobs would not lead to real empowerment of the BC communities. The BCs have also realised that the government was indifferent to their real welfare. Moreover, countless atrocities were being committed against the BCs in the State, she said.
