YS Jagan Mohan Reddy using 'one chance' to destroy AP, slams TDP
Amaravati: TDP MLC G Deepak Reddy on Monday demanded the ministers to explain to the people whether they had asked for 'one chance' from the voters to usher in all-round demolitions and destruction of Andhra Pradesh in utter disregard for the golden future of the state.
Deepak alleged that two years before the 2019 polls, Jagan Mohan Reddy along with a private election consultancy firm did social engineering to divide AP along caste, religion and regional lines while the then chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu was busy completing various developmental projects for the unjustly divided AP state. Eventually, the voters gave 'one chance' to the YSRCP to rule the state and gave 151 out of 175 MLA seats to the Jagan's party.
Addressing a press conference here, the TDP MLC said that after coming to power, Jagan and his ministers had started misusing their power for their selfish goals and they did not bother to fulfil over 400 promises made during his state-wide Padayatra.
The YSRCP cancelled around 34 programmes launched by the TDP. Even Anna canteens were withdrawn despite their popularity among the poorer sections. Sunna Vaddi was being given to only 14 lakh out of the total 64 lakh farmers. Liquor prices were increased by three times in the name of prohibition, he said.
Deepak Reddy asked why the Jagan regime could not construct a single house as against his padayatra promise to give 25 lakh houses to the poor. What is more, the government was not even handing over houses already constructed by the TDP government. There were no efforts to get Special Category Status (SCS) despite the YSRCP having 28 MPs. By stopping Polavaram and 40 irrigation projects, the ruling party caused a loss of Rs 50,000 crore to the farmers.
The Chief Minister promised to continue Amaravati as capital before the elections but now his government did not put a single pail of concrete in the past 18 months, he pointed out.
Stating that the YSRCP had no moral right to boast of its rule as 'Rythu Rajyam', the TDP MLC said that AP came to stand in 3rd place in the country in farmers' suicides.
"The faction-ridden and suppressive 'Raja Reddy Constitution' was brought to afflict all sections of people.
The Chief Minister has broke his promises on job creation, DSC posts, ST status for Valmikis, cancellation of Contributory Pension Scheme, PRC for employees and so on. SC Sub-Plan funds were cut from Rs 8,400 crore to Rs 4,300 crore.
The BCs have lost over 16,800 jobs because of the YSRCP reservations' policy. Jagan has done injustice to the youth, workers and farmers to whom his party name owes its origin," Deepak Reddy said.
