YS Jagan reviews on Eluru Mysterious disease incident, says discharged victims to be monitored

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy held a review with medical officials on the Eluru incident. CM Jagan asked the doctors about the treatment being provided to the victims, causes of illness and details of the tests done so far. Officials told the chief minister that the reports of all the victims were normal. Cases have been identified in Eluru Urban as well as Rural and Denduluru. A team of doctors has already arrived from AIIMS. IICT, NIN and ICMR teams are coming, officials told the CM.

The Chief Minister questioned the officers as to whether the discharged persons were coming back to the hospital again or not. He directed senior officials of the medical and health departments to be available in Eluru and advised the people to be aware so that they can call 104 or 108 if they have any problem.

Speaking on the occasion, Perni Nani said that it is important to monitor the discharged victims for a month and provide good nutrition and food to the victims. He said that central teams are coming in to research the possible causes of the illness including AIIMS team is from Delhi and assured that the victims need not worry. Meanwhile, health commissioner Katamneni Bhaskar said as many as 425 cases have been registered and 222 people have been discharged. About 16 people have been shifted to Vijayawada and Guntur Government hospitals for better treatment and all the viral tests done for those who were sick. He said metal‌ tests have also been done on the water and the results are yet to come. Samples were also sent to CCMB to investigate the water, he said.
