YSR Vahana Mitra scheme launched in Kurnool
Kurnool: The Minister for Labour Gummanur Jayaram said that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, with an aim to benefit the auto, taxi and maxi cab driver-cum-owners, has prestigiously launched YSR Vahana Mitra scheme.
With the scheme the drivers- cum- owners will get a financial assistance of Rs.10,000 per year. He accompanied by other leaders launched the YSR Vahana Mitra scheme at Sunaina Auditorium here on Friday. MLC, Gangula Prabkahar Reddy, Kurnool MP, Sanjeev Kumar, MLAs of Kurnool, Panyam, Srisailam, Nandikotkur, Kodumur and Allagadda were present.
In addition, District Collector G Veera Pandiayan, Joint Collector Patanshetty Ravi Subash, Khaza Mohiuddim and others were also participated in the programme.
Addressing a meeting on the occasion, the Minister has said that YSR Vahana Mitra scheme is one among Navaratnalu schemes.
With the Vahana Mitra scheme 9,964 persons will become eligible for financial assistance of Rs. 10000 per year that will amount to Rs. 9,96,40000. As many as 1,75,352 persons across the state have applied for the scheme, of them 1,73,102 have been identified as beneficiaries, stated the Minister.
He has assured that he will take the problems of auto drivers to the notice of Chief Minster and will strive to resolve them. Chief Minister is striving to fulfil the promises he made to the people, added G Jayaram.
District Collector G Veera Pandiyan said that the left over drivers- cum-owners who did not apply for the scheme can avail the facility up to 31st of October. A special drive has been planned to conduct at the mandals for issuing licences to the drivers. Later the leaders distributed the sanction letters to the beneficiaries.
