YSRCP government failed to resolve sand problem: CPI
Guntur: Communist Party of India State secretary K Ramakrishna came down heavily on Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy for failing to resolve sand problem in the last five months.
Addressing media at Mallaiah Lingam Bhavan here on Thursday, he said due to lack of work, the construction workers were committing suicides and the government was least bothered about it.
He rubbished the claims of government that due to floods the sand quarrying was not possible and added there was no truth in it and remembered that sand was available in Telangana state, Maharashtra and Kerala states despite heavy rains and floods in those states.
He demanded Rs 10 lakh ex gratia to next to kin of construction workers, who committed suicide due to non-availability of sand.
