YSRCP leader attempts suicide at party office

Guntur: YSRCP minority cell secretary Syed Jaffer poured petrol on himself and tried set himself ablaze at party office in Ponnur in the district on Thursday. He resorted to the extreme step demanding that the YSRCP high command give Ponnur Assembly ticket to Ravi Venkata Ramana.

He said the YSRCP leadership was planing to field Kilaru Rosaiah from Ponnur Assembly constituency and demanded that it drop the proposal, instead fielding Ravi Venkata Ramana. Jaffer did not suffer any injuries as party leaders present at the spot immediately rushed to his rescue and prevented him from setting himself afire.
