YSRCP wrests 11 seats in Vizag district
Visakhapatnam: The YSR Congress Party wrested 11 assembly segments out of 15 in the district. Out of 15 Assembly segments, the party bagged 11 Assembly segments, Narsipatnam, Paderu, Elamanchili, Anakapalle, Payakaraopeta, Araku Valley, Bheemili, Chodavaram, Gajuwaka and Pendurty.
TDP senior leader and minister Ch Ayyannapatrudu was also defeated in Narsipatnam constituency. YSR Congress Party contestant P U Sankar Ganesh (brother of Tollywood director Poori Jagannath) won the election. He scored 81,533 votes and Ayyannapatrudu justified with 60,815 votes. The six-month minister Kidari Sravan Kumar in Araku Valley segment was also defeated in the hands of YSR Congress Party candidate S Phalguna and stood in the third place.
YSRCP candidate S Phalguna won the elections defeating his nearest rival and independent candidate D.Dora Siyyari. Phalguna bagged 49,815 votes and Siyyari scrored 25,857 while Sravan Kumar justified with 18,168.
In Paderu segment also, the tribal voters rejected TDP candidate G Eeswari. YSRCP candidate K Bhagyalakshmi won the election by scoring 68,374 while Eeswari secured 27,444 votes. In Payakaraopeta, former MLA and YSRCP senior leader G Baburao won the seat and defeated his nearest rival and TDP candidate Dr B Bangaraiah. Baburao bagged 94,232 votes while the TDP candidate justified with 64,139 votes.
YSR Congress Party senior leader and Anakapalle contestant G Amarnath won the election by defeating sitting MLA and TDP candidate P G Satyanarayana. Amarnath secured 72,514 votes while Satyanarayana justified with 64,579 votes.
In Chodavaram segment, YSR Congress Party candidate K.Dharma Sri won the election by defeating TDP candidate and sitting MLA KSN Raju. Dharma Sri bagged 93,456 votes while Raju justified with 66,210 votes.
In V Madugula segment, YSR Congress Party sitting MLA B Mutyalanaidu retained his seat by defeating his rival and TDP candidate G Ramanaidu. Mutyalanaidu bagged 74,089 votes while Ramanaidu got 59,239 votes.
In Bheemili, according to the reports YSR Congress Party candidate Avanthi Srinivas won the election. He defeated his TDP candidate S Hari. Avanthi Srinivasa Rao secured 83,782 votes while Hari got 74,098 votes.
Former MLA and Elamanchili YSR Congress Party candidate U V Ramanamurthy Raju, known as Kannababu, won the election by defeating his nearest rival and TDP sitting MLA P Ramesh Babu. Kanna Babu secured 60,087 votes while Ramesh Babu justified with 55,725 votes.
