Aam Aadmi Party stages protest over LPG cylinder price hike

Bengaluru: Women's wing of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) staged a massive protest on Saturday against hike in price of LPG cylinder by the Narendra Modi government. Their main slogan was, "Give us subsidy at least for the wood". Women volunteers of Aam Aadmi Party prepared tea using firewood in order to express their anger over the price hike of LPG cylinder.

President of women's wing of AAP Kushala Swamy expressed her outrage by saying that the Narendra Modi government had increased the price of LPG cylinder by Rs 100 in December alone and its only intention was to loot common man.

"The government has saved around Rs 20,000 crore by cancelling the subsidy due to lockdown. Then what is the reason behind the price hike? The rate of wood has also skyrocketed." In a sarcastic tone, she said that the government should at least give subsidy on wood so that people can cook and eat two meals a day.

"Modi, who had earlier advertised that each household should start using LPG for cooking as using wood can cause pollution, is now looting people with the exorbitant price. The Central government which has proved itself to be anti-farmer, anti-labour and anti-women should immediately withdraw this price hike on LPG cylinders or be ready to receive the parcels of wood from us," she added.

The party that promised to make the nation a super-power is actually making the people beggars, they said.

Swamy stated that it was impossible to expect prosperity of the nation from the government 'which is so insensitive' towards common people.
