Bengaluru: Four arrested for robbery
BENGALURU: Bengaluru police attached to Tilak Nagar police station arrested four men who recently involved in a robbery in the city. The accused had committed many offences in the past few months, the police said. The accused identified as Sanjay Antony (21), Mudhasir (21), Lokesh (21) and Vijay (21) all residents of Bengaluru, all four were involved in chain-snatching incidents reported from Bengaluru and elsewhere in Karnataka.
According to the police statement, cases of chain-snatching, robbery of two wheelers in that city were increased and they were instructed to watchout for them. Acting on the tip of the information, the team headed by Sudheer M, ACP, Mico-layout limits managed to nabbed Sanjay Antony a few days back. Based on the interrogation on Sanjay, all other three were traced out on Thursday by the police team. During the investigation it was resolved that the gang was first involved in two wheelers and later they were using the same scooter without a number plate to snatch chains. With their arrest, few robbery cases in the city were solved. It has been learnt that, with these four accused, other cases in different stations like Tilak Nagar, Koramangala, Banashankari, RT Nagar Puttenahalli, Hanumantha Nagar BasavanaGudi police stations were also solved. Police have recovered 9 gold chains of 223 gram worth 11 lakh, 2 bikes worth 1.5 lakh. The complaint has been registered at Tilak Nagar police station and continued with the further investigation.
