Pralhad Joshi urges opposition leaders to desist from giving negative statements on vaccine
Bengaluru: Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi on Sunday urged leaders of opposition not to discredit the efforts of Indian scientists, who strived for the speedy discovery of a vaccine to fight coronavirus, for their political gains.
Speaking in Hubali on Sunday, Pralhad Joshi said, "Many opposition leaders are busy in giving statements raising doubts on effectiveness of vaccine and asking Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take vaccination first. This is most irresponsible and discrediting the efforts of our scientists. BJP has no objection against opposition leaders opposing Modi and BJP government. It's not right that leaders in opposing for the sake of opposition are giving statements. The top priority of the Modi government is to first vaccinate our front-line warriors and health workers. Had we (the Union government) decided to vaccinate MPs and ministers first, the opposition would have questioned us on our priority. Now that we have decided to immunise our health workers, they are questioning Modi".
Pralhad Joshi also claimed that the budget session of the parliament would begin from January 29 and Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government is ready to discuss every issue.
On Budget session being scheduled between January 29 and February 15, the Union minister said, "Unlike the last session, this session would have question hour and zero hour. But I request the opposition parties to extend cooperation for the smooth functioning of the session. We are ready to discuss each and every issue."
