BENGALURU: Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officials attached to Bengaluru division on Tuesday arrested two foreign nationals and seized 6.4 kg drugs in the city. Police said on Tuesday that the arrested were identified as Onovo and Oakvar, two Nigerian nationals.

The arrest of two persons D Shukla and G Maria in a recent raid on November 11 at Amruthhalli revealed the involvement of the Nigerian nationals in drug peddling in the city.

"The information concerning the involvement of the Nigerians was extracted from Shukla and Maria during interrogation, based on which our team acted immediately and arrested the foreign nationals. It was learnt that these two were involved in selling ephedrine and pseudoephedrine chemical the usage of which is illegal without doctors' or experts' advice. These chemicals are used to paint detergent bars and some medicines. The accused Onovo and Oakva were involved in supplying these chemicals concealed in children's school bags," said a senior police official.
