Yediyurappa meets consul generals, invites investments

Bengaluru: Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa convened a meeting with Consul generals of different countries stationed at Bengaluru and invited them to invest in Karnataka.

He apprised them about the advantages of investing in the State and offered to assist them in all possible manner. He explained that the government of Karnataka has taken several measures to enhance investor-friendly atmosphere in the State. "Initiatives such as launching of new industrial policy, amendment to laws to make it easier to acquire land and labour reforms have created an investor-friendly ecosystem," he said.

"We are actively working on industrial corridors. Tumakuru, which is just 70 km away from Bengaluru, is going to be one of the largest industrial townships in the country with 10,000 acres of the planned area. We will provide infrastructure facilities to your companies, to make it easy for them to invest in the State," said Mr Yediyurappa.

"Karnataka has been the leader in several sectors. It has traditional strengths in a wide range of industries - such as machine tools, heavy machinery, automobiles, electronics, aerospace & defense, biotech. We have been successful in providing needed economic and social infrastructures for investment, industries and business to invest in the state," Gaurav Gupta, Principal Secretary, Commerce & Industries Department said.

The delegation of Consuls was led by Vikram Vishwanath. Special Representative of the Government in New Delhi, Shankaragouda Patil, senior officials of the government were present during the meeting.
