Prabhavathi Koppalli, a Sr. Product Manager with over 14 years of experience in the e-commerce sector, seamlessly blends technical expertise with strategic business insight. Her journey into product management began with a strong foundation in Computer Science and Engineering, which she built upon at Jawaharlal Nehru Technical University in Hyderabad. “I’ve always been fascinated by the intersection of technology and business,” Prabhavathi shares. “Product management in e-commerce allows me to use my technical skills while focusing on how technology can drive business value and enhance customer experiences.”

Prabhavathi’s approach to managing multiple products is rooted in a strategic blend of agile methodologies and traditional project management. She prioritises initiatives by evaluating their business impact, resource availability, and alignment with long-term goals. “I break down complex projects into manageable sprints, allowing teams to stay agile while maintaining flexibility to adapt to changes,” she explains. Using tools like Jira Align, Prabhavathi ensures progress is tracked and dependencies are managed efficiently, keeping stakeholders informed with regular updates and transparent communication.

A significant challenge in her role involves integrating disparate systems to ensure a seamless customer experience. “One of the biggest hurdles in e-commerce product management is ensuring that different systems work together without disrupting the customer journey,” Prabhavathi says. She addresses this by creating comprehensive integration strategies and visualising complex interactions with tools like Miro, which helps simplify the process for her cross-functional teams.

Prabhavathi’s success in product management is driven by her customer-centric mindset. She measures product success not only through technical KPIs like system performance but also by tracking business outcomes such as conversion rates and customer satisfaction scores. “I’m always looking at the bigger picture—how does this product affect the customer, and how does it align with our business objectives?” she reflects. By systematically collecting feedback from customers and incorporating it into product testing, she ensures that every product is crafted with the end user in mind.

Innovation is a core value for Prabhavathi. “I encourage my team to think outside the box,” she says. “By fostering a culture of creativity and continuous improvement, we can develop products that not only solve today’s problems but also anticipate tomorrow’s challenges.” Her leadership in driving innovation is complemented by her ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, ensuring that every project aligns with shared goals and objectives.

Looking to the future, Prabhavathi is excited about the transformative potential of AI and machine learning in e-commerce. She anticipates that these technologies will enable more personalised customer experiences and predictive capabilities, offering e-commerce platforms new ways to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving market.
