Central government done unprecedented work to develop railway infrastructure in last Six years, says Piyush Goyal
Union Minister for Railways Piyush Goyal has said that the Central Government has done unprecedented work to develop railway infrastructure and increase Passenger Amenities in the last six years.
Mr Goyal in a tweet today said, "Under PM @NarendraModi ji's leadership, Railways has achieved many milestones towards infrastructure development: Station Electrified 18,065 km of Railway line in 2014-20. Railway track Electrification of railway tracks increased by 371% during 2014-20 as compared to 2008-14."
Inaugurating the electrified section of Bandikui- Digawada rail section today, Mr Goyal said that the pace of every work in the railway has increased in the last six years. Indian Railways is achieving new milestones through teamwork. Mr Goyal said that the Railways has resolved to electrify 100 per cent to reduce pollution and increase the speed of the trains.
In Rajasthan, 1433 km of railway lines have been electrified in the last six years, that is 240 km every year. Before this, electrification work was done on the Delhi-Mumbai rail line 35 years ago in the state. He said that now the entire route from Rewari to Ajmer has been electrified and it will benefit local tourism and businesses.
Mr Goyal said that every work of the railways, including underpass, overbridge, new rail line, gauge conversion has witnessed an unprecedented boom in the last five years. He expressed satisfaction that not a single passenger died in railway accidents in the last 21 months. Dausa MP Jaskaur Meena, General Manager of North Western Railway Anand Prakash were also present on the occasion.
