Megha's PP Reddy richest in TS with 13,400 cr

Hyderabad: PP Reddy, Chairman of city-based infrastructure major Megha Engineering & Infrastructure Limited (MEIL), emerged as the richest person with a total wealth of Rs 13,400 crore in IIFL Wealth Hurun India Rich List 2019 released on Wednesday. He stood at 57th place in the overall listed topped by Mukesh Ambani of Reliance.

P V Krishna Reddy, Managing Director of MEIL, stood at 63rd place with a wealth of Rs 12,900 crore. MEIL Chairman and MD have a total wealth of Rs 26,300 crore between them. Interestingly, PP Reddy also emerged as richest person in construction and engineering category in India. As many as 45 people from this category figured in the list from across the country.

Meanwhile, Telangana ranked fifth among the states with highest number of rich people found place in the list. The newly-created State is home to 68 rich people figured in the list, up by 19 from a year ago.

Of them, 63 people hail from Hyderabad. Divi Satchandra Kiran of Divi's Laboratories is a new entrant into top 100 with a fortune of Rs 10,200 crore. He was ranked at 79th place. Satya Nadella, the Hyderabad-born CEO of Microsoft, also found a place in the list with Rs 5,100 crore wealth.
