Hyderabad: Poultry India is organising the 13th edition of Poultry India Expo, South Asia's biggest poultry event with participation from 375 major companies from India and abroad, from November 27.

The three-day event is expected to attract over 35,000 business visitors across 27,500 sqm and 5 exhibition halls at the HITEX venue.

On November 26, a Knowledge Day will shed light on various factors that beset the poultry industry. More than 1,550 delegates from India, Europe, USA and SAARC nations will be exposed to the latest scientific innovations in breeding, hygiene, nutrition, animal health, poultry equipment and marketing.

"Despite challenges across all fronts, India's broiler production for 2019 is projected to increase by 7.7 per cent to nearly 5 million tonnes, processed chicken meat demand is projected to grow between 15-20 per cent and layer production is forecast at 85 billion eggs," said Chakradhar Rao, President, Indian Poultry Equipment Manufacturers' Association (IPEMA).

"This success story would not have been possible without steadfast endeavours by over 6.5 million poultry farmers who have collectively raised poultry to become a phenomenal 100,000 crore industry and one of the prime sectors focusing on food and nutritional security of the nation.
