SBI urges customers to use digital channels
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Circle of State Bank of India on Monday said in view of COVID - 19 and risk of coronavirus, essential and basic banking services are being provided with minimum number of staff at the branches.
It appealed to all the customers to minimise their visit to the branches.
"As per the guidelines, bank will deliver the basic services only - cash deposits, cash withdrawal, remittances, clearing of cheques and govt transactions in its branches from March 23 onwards till further notification," OP Mishra, Chief General Manager, SBI Hyderabad Circle, Telangana, said in a statement.
In view of the lockdown announced by the Telangana Government, he has requested SBI customers to cooperate and to minimize the visit to branches for their safety and to prevent the spread of this virus.
Mishra has also advised the customers to use the digital and alternate channels like internet banking, Yono and ATM services to minimise the need for the customers to visit the branches as most of the services are available on these platforms.
