Swiggy to be Third largest source Of Employment: Food Delivery Company to Hire 3 Lakh Employees

One of the major food delivery companies named Swiggy is all set to recruit three lakhs employees in the next 18 months, which will make it to a total of 5 lakh employees. At present, Swiggy has about 2.1 lakh employees operating across the country. Of which 8000 employees come in the corporate sector who get the standard benefits such s Provident Funds.

While Zomato, the arch-rival of Swiggy company has 2.3 lakh employees and the Flipkart has 1 lakh employees. On the other hand, online shopping giant Amazon did not disclose the number of employees in their company.

On the other hand, App-based cab-hailing companies like OLA and UBER has more than 20 lakh employees. Incidentally, the government has released a draft on the safety of these employees. It is reported that India has 2 lakh restaurants, while Beijing has 3 lakh restaurants.

"If some of our growth estimates continue, it will not be too many years before we can be the third-largest source of employment in India behind Army and Indian Railways." Co-Founder CEO Sriharsha Majety said.
