Vokal now answers in Telugu
Hyderabad: Bengaluru-based Vokal, a vernacular knowledge sharing platform,said it added 10 Indian languages to its platform, including Telugu.
Introduced for Hindi users, the question and answering platform will now available inKannada, Bengali, Tamil, Malayalam, Gujarati, Marathi, Punjabi, Oriya and Assamese. Also, it enables knowledge sharing in the form of audio and video.
The startup said 90 per cent of India speaks several local languageswhile just 10 per cent of the population is well versed in English.
Catering to the vernacular audience, Vokal said it is bridging the information and knowledge gap among these non-English internet users by enabling peer-to-peer knowledge sharing through questions and answers, over voice and video.
The startup's founders, AprameyaRadhakrishna and Mayank Bidawatka, saidVokal is simple to use -users can ask a question in their local Indian language, either through a voicemessage or text. This is then answered by an expert.
