Bhumi Dialogue Delivery In Durgamati Not Powerful Enough: Anushka Shetty Fans

Hindi audience is thrilled after watching the trailer of movie "Durgamati" in which Bollywood actress Bhumi Padnekar. Bhumi's colleagues from the industry as also her fans have hailed her look in the movie.

However, one section of the audience is not happy with Bhumi playing the role of Durgamati in the horror flick. Fans of Tollywood actress Anushka Shetty are not happy about it.

For the unversed, "Durgamati" is the Hindi remake of the Telugu hit "Bhagamathie". Bhumi Padnekar reprises the role played by Anushka in Bhaagamathie. The Telugu flick was directed by G Ashok and Anushka carried the entire movie on her shoulders and rocked as always in the female-oriented film.

Though the Hindi audience is thrilled about the trailer, netizens have expressed their disappointment saying Bhumi's performance is not up to the mark and that she cannot match Anushka's performance in the Telugu original. "Durgamati" which is directed by Ashok and set to release on Amazon Prime Video, has generated a lot of buzz especially in the Bollywood circles. Arshad Warsi, Jishu Sen Gupta, Mahie Gill, Karan Kapadia, and others will be part of the main cast in this movie while Bhumi Padnekar plays the titular role.

"The movie is copied from Telugu. But the actress has failed to match Anushka Shetty's performance. Even the utterance of the dialogue "I am Durgamati" not powerful enough and can't match Anushka's performance in the Telugu version. Bhumi Padnekar may be a good actress but it is impossible to pay justice to the role like Anushka has done in the Telugu movie as it is a big challenge," thus have commented Netizens on the social media and added satirically stating that they can make good movies instead of copying movies from Southern film industries.

One of the netizens has stated, "I saw the trailer Bhagamathi's remake "Durgamati". We can never imagine anybody else in the role of 'Chanchal" other than Anushka Shetty. Bhumi might have acted well, but in the trailer, the character doesn't seem to be as powerful as that of Anushka Shetty, feel people.

In the Bhagamathie which was released in 2018, Anushka played an IAS officer and in the flash back she is seen as a Queen. The Hindi version will be officially released on Amazon Prime Video on December 11.
