Dhairya Karwa Joins 83 Ensemble To Play Ravi Shastri

Amidst of first schedule shooting, the makers of 83 just confirmed the URI famed actor Dhairya Karwa will be playing most iconic Indian batsman Ravi Shastri in the forthcoming sports drama.

Kabir Khan's upcoming directorial venture '83 based on India's iconic win at 1983 Cricket World Cup has already roped in several Bollywood A-listers like Ranveer Singh, Ammy Virk, Jiiva, Hardy Sandhu, Saqib Saleem, Pankaj Tripathi and many more.

Now newbie Dhairya Karwa, who was last seen in the role of Captain Sartaj Singh Chandok in Uri: The Surgical Strike, will essay the character of Ravi Shastri who played a pivotal role as an opening batsman in India's historic World Cup win in 1983.

The official handle of Reliance Entertainment confirmed the news on social media. They captioned it, "@Dhairyakarwa walks into '83 team with passion and josh! All set to play Ravi Shastri! #CastOf83 #Relive83 @RaviShastriOfc @RanveerOfficial @kabirkhankk @MadhuMantena @vishinduri @83thefilm"

The entire ensemble of the film is prepping in Dharamshala. After wrapping the training session in Dharamsala, Ranveer along with the cast of '83 got clicked. In the now viral picture, the cast can be seen dressed in white test cricket uniforms in a cricket stadium in Dharamshala.

Ranveer wrote, "One year from today, relive India's greatest story #Relive83 Releasing on 10th April 2020."

The film also stars Tahir Raj Bhasin, Sahil Khattar, Chirag Patil, Adinath Kothare, Dinker Sharma, Jatin Sarna, Vijay Varma and R Badree, reprising the India national cricket team that won the 1983 Cricket World Cup.

The film is currently slated for 10th April 2020 release.
