Ranveer Singh turns a Gujarati boy for his upcoming film Jayeshbhai Jordaar

Ranveer Singh is all set to explore another side of his acting talent and this time he will be playing a charismatic Gujarati boy for the film Jayeshbhai Jordaar. After he wrapped up shooting for Kabir Khan's '83', Ranveer was quick to announce his next project, for which he will be transforming himself into a typical 'Gujarati chokro' (boy). In the first glimpse of the film, the Gully Boy actor seems to be protecting a group of women with veils on their faces. Talking about his look, Ranveer seems to have shed a few kilos for this role and he looks quite quirky as he dons an orange-hued tee with polka dots with a slight mustache which definitely looks like an icing on the cake.

Jayeshbhai Jordaar is directed by Divyang Thakkar and produced by Yash Raj Studios. Its plot revolves around an ordinary Gujarati boy who ends up doing something extraordinary when he comes across certain threatening situations. Talking about the film to HT, Ranveer said, "As Charlie Chaplin once said: 'To truly laugh, you must be able to take your pain, and play with it'. Jayeshbhai is an unlikely hero, an ordinary man, who ends up doing something extraordinary when he's hurled into a threatening situation. He is sensitive and compassionate, and believes in equal rights between men and women in a society that is deeply rooted in patriarchal ideals and practices."

Ranveer is known for getting into the skin of his characters, for instance, in his role as Kapil Dev for the film 83, his look seems indisputably bang on. Even though playing a Gujarati boy seems challenging to Ranveer, he admits that he will be deconstructing himself in order to fit perfectly into the role.
