Andrew Lincoln joins Naomi Watts in family drama 'Penguin Bloom'
Los Angeles: "Walking Dead" alum Andrew Lincoln is set to share screen space with actor Naomi Watts in "Penguin Bloom".
Described as a family drama, the film is based on Bradley Trevor Grieve and Cameron Bloom's book of the same name. Australian writer Shaun Grant is adapting it for the big screen. The film follows a young family who is struggling to come to terms with a near-fatal accident that left their mother paralysed.
As they learn to adjust to her new situation, an unlikely ally entered their lives in the form of an injured Magpie chick, dubbed "Penguin" by the family. Lincoln, 45, will portray the husband of Watts' character in the movie. "We were all captivated by this heart-warming story of resilience, the power of family and hope," the producers said in a statement to Variety.
"We're thrilled to have the supremely talented Andrew Lincoln on board to bring the Bloom's story to audiences around the world," they added. Watts, 50, will also produce the project along with Bruna Papandrea, Emma Cooper, Jodi Matterson and Steve Hutensky.
