Indian Cinema Connection With Oscar Awards

Well, this year Indian cinema stayed away from the nominations list and thus we can't expect any award from these gala awards. It just a common thing for many people as it is once in a moonlight when Indian cinemas will be considered in the nominations list.

Be it moonlight or decades away, we feel proud whenever our movie gets nominated for these awards. As Oscars 2020 is only a day away, we Hans India thought to refresh the memory line of all Indians by digging out the beautiful memories of Indian cinema nominations in Oscars… Have a look!

First, we will start off with the 'Best Movie Category'…

Till now only three Indian movies have made to the nominations list. First, it was the 'Mother India' movie of the year 1958 which was selected for Oscar nomination in the 'Best Foreign Language Film Category'. This movie narrated the best ever story of a mother and made many of them go teary-eyed.

Next, it took almost 3 decades to get next nomination…It is 'Salmaam Bombay' of 1988 which narrated a story of a boy who steps into the city to fulfill his dreams.

Finally, it was in 2001, when Bollywood super hit movie 'Lagaan' made it to the nominations list.
