The halting of movie production following a lockdown imposed to curtail the spread of coronavirus has affected the life of scores of people working in the industry. While big time filmmakers have survived the crisis, a few small time producers and directors are finding it hard to cope with the stress. Four months of lockdown has hit movie technicians, actors and workers hard.

People from the industry are taking up alternate jobs to earn their livelihood. The latest to join the scene is none other than a Kollywood producer who is said to have opened a grocery store to earn his daily bread. The Tamil filmmaker who's been working in the industry for a decade now, has opened a ration shop after realising the fact the wait for opening of theatres will be eternal because of the rising number of COVID19 cases.

Anand has used up all his savings to hire a shop owned by his friend to open a shop in Chennai and ensure he doesn't go hungry.

Talking about the food crisis created in Tamil Nadu owing to lockdown and the work done by govt-run ration shops, Kollywood producer Anand is said to have opened a shop saying he finds pride and dignity in his job and vowed to return to movies once things get back to normalcy.

While the government has given its nod to opening of Malls, parks and beaches, there seems to be no news on reopening of theatres yet which has led to huge losses for theatre owners and filmmakers alike as they would have timed the movie to release at a certain time and bring it more closer to realty
