After the dismal performance of NGK, star hero Suriya got a respite with the success of his recent film Kaappaan. Directed by KV Anand, this action thriller was released on the 20th of September and was well-received by the Tamil audience. It was dubbed into Telugu as Bandobast but failed to perform well down here.

Meanwhile, it went on to collect a gross of more than Rs. 100 crores at the Kollywood box office. The makers have arranged a success party the other day to celebrate this hit. Along with Suriya and KV Anand, film's other lead actors Arya, Sayyeshaa and music director Harris Jayaraj was present at the event.

Lyca Productions, which bankrolled Kaappaan, was highly satisfied with the success of the film. The film also featured Mohanlal and Boman Irani in the other pivotal roles. Suriya will be next seen in Soorarai Pottru which is being directed by Sudha Kongara.
