Tamil film industry body appeals to Centre
As Chennai and a few neighbouring districts go on to impose a complete lockdown once again from June 19-30, the impact has been felt by everyone including the film industry. The activities related to the cinema and the satellite television fields both have been impacted and this has led to a fresh appeal from the trade body to the Centre.
In a statement by Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI), R K Selvamani said that in accordance with the state government notification the film industry has extended full cooperation. The local government has extended a financial assistance also for the employees. However, he said in the Rs 20 lakh crore economic relief package, there has been nothing significant for the film industry employees which is disappointing, he added.
