Thalapathy Vijay's Bigil Suffered Huge Losses Due To One Scene
Thalapathy Vijay's last release Bigil was much talked about. The movie was a sports drama and was said to be a commercial hit too. However, a recent interview of the Kollywood movie producer has reversed the success talk surrounding the movie now.
According to the producer, the Thalapathy Vijay movie suffered losses to the tune of Rs 20 crores. We all know that Bigil was made on a massive budget of Rs 180 crore. However, the makers earned their ROI. The movie collected a whopping Rs 100 crores in the first three days of its release and went to rake in a total of Rs 300 crores at the box office in all. So the movie was being hailed as a money-spinner at the box office. Bigil was released in over 4200 screens worldwide and earned rave reviews from audience and critics alike.
However, the producer in a recent interview to a portal is believed to said that there was a loss of Rs 20 crores due to just one scene which involved football. The football scene cost them dear, the maker is believed to have said.
The film was yet another Diwali release for actor Vijay. Bigil was directed by Atlee Kumar and starred the Thalapathy in dual roles. This was the third collaboration between the actor and the director. AR Rahman composed the music for the film which also won four awards.
Vijay's next is Lokesh Kanagaraj's Master. The movie also features Malavika Mohanan and Vijay Sethupathi in key roles. The movie was supposed to release in theatres on April 9 but was postponed due to the corona lockdown. The film is now gearing up for release after the end of lockdown.
