When Kalyani's mom thought she received a bomb

Daughter of Malayalam film director Priyadarshan and erstwhile actress Lizzy, Kalyani, is a rising star in southern cinema. She recently shared her Mother's Day experiences in a Malayalam news website when she was pursuing a course in the US, a few years ago.

Planning a surprise on Mother's Day, she had asked one of her friends in Chennai to pick up the favourite flowers of her mother's choice as she described it to her. The friend duly completed the task and went to Kalyani's home for delivering the surprise package.

Instead, what the actress came to know was that Lizzy got panicky on receiving the package and panicked that it may have been a bomb or something.

She gave a mouthful to Kalyani's friend who promptly called the latter in America and asked her to explain her intentions of a sweet surprise.

This was done and normalcy restored. However, in those days when there were no social media, it had become an agonizing phase for the Chennai friend who was frustrated that she could not get a response immediately, reminisced Kalyani.
