Malgudi Days Comeback On Kannada TV Channel To Revive TRPs

The moment lockdown was announced and the government put a full stop on all the movie and serial shooting activities, Doordarshan swung into action. Taking the lead, they thought this was the best time to woo back lost audience to the national tv channel. They quickly pulled out their most watched mythological epics--Ramayan and Mahabharat and sure enough, the TRPs came to life.

Soon after, all the other channels followed suit. Some of the most watched shows were fished out from the archives by various TV channels across languages. Musical shows, comedy shows have fortunately become saviors of television channels whose TRPs nosedived to all all-time low.

The latest we hear is that Zee Kannada has decided to show the Kannada version of the popular hindi serial Malgudi Days which aired on Doordarshan over two decades ago.
