Rajinikanth stable, to be discharged tomorrow
Hyderabad: Superstar Rajinikanth, who was admitted to Apollo Hospitals here on Friday morning following fluctuations in his blood pressure, is said to be stable and is likely to be discharged on Sunday.
Rajinikanth, 70, who is popularly known as Thalaivar, was in Hyderabad for his film "Annathe" but the shoot was cancelled earlier this week after four members of the crew tested positive for Covid.
According to Apollo Hyderabad, Rajinikanth had tested negative for Covid on Tuesday. "Though he did not have any symptoms of Covid-19, his blood pressure showed severe fluctuations and needed further evaluation for which he has been admitted to the hospital. He will be investigated and monitored closely in the hospital till his blood pressure settles down before being discharged," the statement said.
Rajanikanth has been kept under observation in a special suite in the hospital. His daughter Aishwarya was with him while other family members reached Hyderabad by evening. Governor of Telangana Tamilisai Soundararajan spoke to the doctors of the hospital and enquired about the health of the superstar. Following the appeal by Rajanikanth and his family members, no one from the film industry went to Apollo hospital.
Megastar Chiranjeevi spoke to Aishwarya and enquired about Rajani's health condition. Rajinikanth is scheduled to announce the launch date of his new political party on December 31. Though there is a possibility of postponement of the launch of the party in view of his health condition, his fans and admirers are still optimistic.
