Sandalwood actor Dr Vishnuvardhan

Kannada movie buffs are bent upon pressurising the film chamber of commerce to take action against the Telugu actor who made some nasty comments about late sandalwood actor Dr Vishnuvardhan.

Meanwhile, actor Anirudh Jakhar of Kannada TV serial Jothe Jotheyali fame, who is the son-in-law of Dr Vishnuvardhan, has also expressed his unhappiness over the video on social media.

"He has spoken about a dignified big Kannada star. Speaking ill about him is as good as demeaning Kannadigas. My father-in-law's fans are like lions. I request him to tender apologies to them. My father-in-law considered all the states and languages as his own. I am really unhappy after hearing his statement. Vijay Rangaraju has really stooped low. This is really upsetting for all his fans. As everyone knows, Appaji used to respect all artists and technicians and helped them when they were in difficulties and used to tell the beneficiaries not to disclose his help to anyone. To speak ill of such a person is very unbecoming of an artist. He has said that he held his collars. Is it possible to hold the collar of a Lion? If he had the guts, he should have revealed this when he was alive, but he is telling this 11 years after my FIL passed away. This means the matter is not true. Truth will have courage. Merely sporting a moustache is not a sign of strength and courage. As a member of Vishnuvardhan's family, I request Telugu film industry people to take suitable action against him," thus stated Anirudh.

Anirudh who spoke further warned the Telugu actor not to come to Karnataka which will instigate his fans. Anirudh has thanked all Vishnu fans for their support in this regard and has requested them not to get agitated about the comments of an insignificant unknown person. Several other Sandalwood actors like Jaggesh, and Pratham have condemned the Telugu actor over his statements.
