‘Pogaru’ set for release in January

Bengaluru: Dhruva Sarja's upcoming film 'Pogaru' has been creating a lot of anticipation with its posters and teasers. The song 'Karaabu' also went viral on YouTube. Now the team is planning to release the film in theatres in January. The film, directed by Nanda Kishore, has Rashmika Mandanna as female lead. The outbreak of coronavirus threw the spanner in the producer's plan to complete the shooting and release 'Pogaru' earlier this year. According to the latest reports, 'Pogaru' will be the first Sandalwood commercial movie to hit the screens in January.

It is now entering the final stages of post-production work, and Rashmika Mandanna was in Bengaluru for a couple of days to complete the dubbing. The production house claims that 'Pogaru' will be released in Kannada and also working towards having a simultaneous release in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi as well.

"The Hindi dubbing rights have been sold for Rs 7.2 crore, and Telugu version has fetched a good amount as well. The film is made keeping in mind the taste of audience of all languages," sources close to the poroduction house claim.

Dhruva Sarja was last seen in 'Bharjari', which was released in 2017. It has been two years since his last appearance and his fans have been eagerly waiting for the release of 'Pogaru'. The film also has Dhananjay playing an important role, along with Mayuri, Ravi Shankar and Chikkanna. Music is scored by Chandan Shetty, while the background score is composed by V Harikrishna, and Vijay Milton has handled the camera work.
