While still coming to terms with the delay in film schedules caused by the coronavirus pandemic, the KGF Chapter 2 team suffered another blow. The latest development is definitely going to further hamper the progress of the movie production.

It is known that Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt who is playing the powerful villain character Adheera is central to the movie's plot. He has been recently diagnosed with lung cancer which will now forbid him from taking part in the shooting of the multilingual KGF chapter 2 at least for a few months considering his treatment.

KGF 2 is a sequel to the movie KGF which was released in 2018 and was a super hit. The film broke all box office records and set a new benchmark for Sandalwood filmmakers. KGF chapter2 was supposed to be released on October 23, 2020. The First look poster of Sanjay Dutt as Adheera was released about 15 days ago on the Bollywood actor's birthday which was on July 29.

Karthik Gowda, the executive producer of the film, said Sanjay would resume work after three months once the treatment is over. He is expected to shoot for a few extension scenes which will take about three days.

KGF chapter2 now may not release on its scheduled date, October 23. In all, totally about 21 days of shooting is left which includes the work of all actors. "Theatres have not yet opened and we don't know when movies will start releasing on big screens and we have to wait," he said.

Gowda also added that covid has played havoc and made them go in different directions. The movie which is produced by Vijay kiragandur is being directed by Prashanth Neel. Srinidhi Shetty plays the leading lady opposite Rocking Star Yash. It is said that the movie will be released in multiple languages. The movie depicts the power struggle between Rocky (Yash) and Adheera (Sanjay) and it may be recalled that the first part of this movie was also helmed by the same director.

Meanwhile, Sanjay Dutt's wife Maanayata Dutt has said that Sanjay has always been a fighter and is hopeful that he would come out of this as well.

"There is a lot that the family has gone through in the past few years but I am confident, this too shall pass. God has yet again chosen to test us to overcome the challenges ahead," said Maanayata who is also a producer.
