Soorarai Pottru: Shahid Kapoor To Reprise Suriya's Role in Hindi Remake?
Kollywood is filled with talented actors. But Suriya has a style of his own. Be it playing a business tycoon in Ghajini or a dedicated husband Sillonu Oru Kadhal, Suriya can handle any kind of role. He will next be seen in the role of a pilot. The actor will be seen in a true story based on the life of Air Deccan Founder GR Gopinath. The movie is one of the most awaited movies this year. The makers were forced to postpone its release because of the pandemic.
Titled Soorarai Pottru, the movie is directed by Sudha Kongara. Suriya plays a pilot turned businessman in the movie. So fans are betting big on the box office success of Soorai Pottru and can't wait for the movie to hit the screens.
Soorarai Pottru has already completed the censor formalities and earned itself a U certificate recently.
We now hear that a Bollywood producer is keen on remaking the movie in Hindi. And guess who will reprise Suriya's role of a pilot-turned-entrepreneur in the Hindi remake of Soorarai Pottru? If the buzz making the rounds on social media is to be believed then Shahid Kapoor is being considered to play the role.
The Bollywood actor seems to be bitten by the remake bug. His next is also a remake of a Telugu movie Jersey (based on the story of cricketer Raman Lamba) which starred Nani as the lead. So, if all goes well. Sudha Kongara may get to direct Shahid in the Hindi version of Soorarai Pottru. An official word on this is yet to be made.
Soorarai Pottru also stars Mohan Babu, Paresh Rawal, Aparna Balamurali and Jackie Shroff in important roles. Suriya's 2D Entertainment has joined hands with Sikhya Entertainment (Guneet Monga) to produce this movie. The movie is slated for release post lockdown.
