G R Gopinath who hails from Karnataka was a pilot in the Indian Air force. Gopinath too has appreciated this movie though he admits that not all the incidents that are shown in the movie are true.

Actress Aparna Balamuruli has played the lead role opposite Suriya in the movie. She has portrayed the character Bommi excellently and has earned the appreciation of Cinegoers. This movie has given a big break for the actress.
