Pedarayudu'… This movie became a trendsetter in the 90s with all the ultimate screen presence of two superstars, of Tollywood Mohan Babu and Rajinikanth.

Although Rajini had a limited screen space in this movie, he stole the hearts of the audience with his rocking performance essaying 'Paparayudu' role.

Coming to Mohan Babu, he became the lifeline of the story portraying dual roles. One being a disciplined 'Village Head' and the other as a 'Loving Husband' and 'Loyal Brother'.

Powerful dialogues of Mohan Babu, amazing screen presence of Bhanupriya and lovely appearance of Soundarya along with Rajini's mania turned this movie into a classic one. Especially the trademark flip of the shoulder towel created a buzz and made many youngsters follow it. Rajini charged zero remuneration for this movie as he was heart-fully connected with the role.

Well, 'Pedarayudu' movie clocked 25 years recently and on this occasion, we have come up with a few amazing facts of this movie…

'Pedarayudu' movie was actually lifted from Kollywood and it is a remake of 'Nattamai (1994) movie which had Khushbu, Sarath Kumar and Meena in lead roles.

After getting impressed with the Nattamai storyline, Rajini suggested Mohan Babu to remake it in Telugu. Thus the dialogue king decided to remake it after watching the original version.

Here enters Raja Pinishetty, who directed the movie. After the 'M. Dharma Raju M.A' movie, the Mohan Babu joined hands with this director for the second time and handed him this subject which showcased the importance of relations on the big screens.

Speaking about the music, the melodious number "Kadile Kalama…" is still played in most of the baby shower functions. Such impact was created by the music director Koti who put his best forward and made the audience get connected to his melodious and romantic songs from the movie.

Finally, speaking about the collections, 'Pedarayudu' movie successfully completed 25 weeks of its journey at the ticket windows and collected almost Rs 58 crore in 90s.
