Coronavirus is spreading like a wildfire across the globe and the deadly virus has so far claimed over 5000 lives around the world. Every country out there is taking stringent measures to prevent the spread of the virus. India has so far reported two deaths—one in Karnataka and another in Delhi. Most states are opting for a total shutdown to contain the harm of the virus.

The latest state to shut down was Telangana after three people tested positive for Covid-19. As a preventive measure, the Telangana government ordered the closure of all malls, educational institutions and advised against mass gatherings of any sort.

In the latest development, Telugu megastar Chiranjeevi has decided to hold the shooting of his upcoming movie Acharya for a fortnight to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

In a statement, the Tollywood megastar hailed the efforts of chief ministers of the two Telugu states—Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, KCR and YS Jagan respectively in containing the spread of the pandemic. He then stated that since movie shoots involve the presence of a large number of people, he thought it better to postpone his movie for a fortnight instead of putting the health of the movie crew at risk.

He discussed his idea with the director and Koratala Siva is said to have readily given his nod.

Chiranjeevi said, "despite having the financial burden upon us, I would like to urge the film fraternity to take part in the preventive measures to curb the Coronavirus outbreak."

Acharya is bankrolled by Niranjan Reddy and Ram charan under Matinee Entertainment and Konidela Production company banners. Stay tuned for updates.
