Gunasekhar's dream project deferred?
Ace director Gunasekhar, who is planning a big ticket mythological film 'Hiranyakasipudu' with young sensation Rana Daggupati, has to reportedly wait for another 8 to 9 months to begin shooting his dream project.
"Thin-looking Rana has to work on his body and it will take another 8 to 9 months for him to bulk up for the role of Demon King and Gunasekhar's wait gets longer," says a source, close to the unit.
Apart from 'Haathi Mere Saathi' and '1940' which are in filming phase, Rana had signed a big budget trilingual mythological film, which will be shot simultaneously in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi.
According to Hindu Puranas, Hiranyakashipu was the most notorious and deadly Demon king. Rana will be seen playing the titular role in the film. There was also a buzz that the film will be made on a whopping budget of Rs 180 crore.
"Guna has designed numerous story boards to get a clear picture about his magnum opus. Story boards will help in reducing wastage and unnecessary expenditure and money can be spent on film alone," the source adds. The film will bankrolled by Suresh Babu.
Now, according to the latest buzz, the project will go on floors sometime in June, 2020.
Pre-production work has come to end and nearly 17 VFX studios will be working for the breath-taking visuals in the film. By playing his first mythological character, Rana seems to push the envelope for baddy roles much further than anyone else.
