Handsome and Experimentative: Nagarjuna

Nagarjuna completed 60 years of age on 29th August, 2019. He is still giving many youngsters competition in terms of looks and fitness. He has the best body on-screen even at 60 years of age and he openlg stated that he always feels like he is 30 years old only.

The actor even though got into films purely because of his father, Akkineni Nageswara Rao, he never took it for granted. His voice, looks were criticised when he started out in 1986 with Vikram. Movie became a hit but his dialogue diction was not perfect.

He worked on his Telugu, improved his body language and his voice became his strength and identity over the years. He delivered Industry changing hits like Shiva, Geetanjali, Annamayya and Ninne Pelladatha which change trends in Telugu Cinema, from the over the top action to subtle yet strong punches.

His classic include Allari Alludu, Nirnayam, Hello Brother, Rakshana, Manamadhudu, Manam, Oopiri which are watched repeatedly on TV or on Digital platforms even today. His mass action films like Mass, Telugu typical commercial films like Aakhari Poratam, Azad, Varasudu proved to have something fresh for everyone.

He has family entertainers like Nuvvu Vasthavani, Santhosham, Soggade Chinni Nayana that became blockbusters and devotional films like Sri Ramadasu in his illustrious career and he is the actor who is accepted in various genres over the years. He did have flops and disasters in his career but never tried to stick to a formula ever.

His Officer and Manmadhudu-2 made his fans angry on his choices lately but the actor still gives preference to look young on screen and do something fresh. Outside the films, he became a successful entrepenuer by getting into hospitality and leisure Industries like Satellite TV with Maa now, StarMaa and N Convention centre and he parterned with Sachin Tendulkar & M.S.Dhoni for a football team & racing team, respectively.

He own Income Tax Returns awards several times for on-time payment and he completely shifted his house as progressive non-renewable energy resource by installing solar panels, waste management gas plants and rain water harvestation. He changed the look of Annapurna Studios after family made him chairman and he opened AISFM, film school for aspirants at the famous Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad.

He won National Award as producer for Ninne Pelladutha and Special appreciation award as an actor for Annamayya. He won 4 Nandi Awards as an actor and 2 as a producer. He is an advocate for animal rights with his wife, Amala Akkineni being actively involved in Blue Cross and he is an advocate for awareness against AIDS too. Happy 60th Birthday to Nagarjuna from our side and we wish to see him performing on screen in different languages and better films from now on.
